We are happy to report that CERIDES organised and implemented last week (Tuesday the 7th and Wednesday the 8th of March 2017) a National Critical Infrastructure Protection Exercise within the premises of European University Cyprus, as part of the EU Circle Research Project meeting.

The exercise was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Cyprus and the participation of the Joint Research Center of the European Commission. It was attended by the main owners of critical infrastructure in Cyprus: CYTA, Primetel, EAC, all water supply boards, port authority, as well as the main public transport providers (EKO- Hellenic Petroleum, Noble, Total, Petrolina, etc.).

The exercise focused on a basic fire scenario consequence of climate change in the province of Limassol. Models and simulations of the effects that the incident will have on the main critical infrastructure were presented.
