Ms Louisa Marie Shakou, Research Associate – Louisa Marie Shakou has a Masters in Chemistry from Leeds University and a Masters in Environmental Technology from

Imperial College London with a specialisation in Environmental Economics and Policy. Louisa has worked as a Researcher in the Energy, Climate Change and Sustainability team at the National Audit Office of the UK Government. During her time with the team she was involved in studies on diverse topics including air pollution, funding for renewable energy, smart metering, carbon budgets, sustainable development and the environmental impacts associated with large critical infrastructure projects. Louisa has also worked at TUV Cyprus Ltd, as a member of audit teams conducting inspections against ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004 and EMAS. She has been a visiting lecturer at the Higher Hotel Institute Cyprus where she has taught the course Environmental and Sustainability Management. Her particular research interests focus on risk assessment of climate change risks, adaptation and ecosystem services.
