Dr. Demetris Hadjiloucas actively engages in MoU signed between EUC and the Department of Meteorology of Cyprus

CERIDES – Excellence in Innovation and Technology, is happy to announce the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between EUC and the Department of Meteorology of Cyprus.

Dr. Demetris Hadjiloucas, Associate Professor of Mathematics in EUC and CERIDES academic member, has been instrumental in the development of this collaboration and the signing of this MoU. In particular, Dr. Hadjiloucas has already started a research project in cooperation with researchers from the Department of Meteorology, on the spread of forest fires using mathematical modelling with the possibility of extending this to include areas such as wildfire modelling.

It is obvious that this collaboration will create ample opportunities for research and collaboration with other researchers and research centers abroad, especially in the areas of climate and climatic phenomena.

CERIDES would like to congratulate Dr. Hadjiloucas for fostering and enabling this collaboration. CERIDES would also like to thank everyone who contributed in this effort, both from the Department of Meteorology and from European University Cyprus.
