CERIDES Adjunct Professor Dr Alan Waring has been admitted (12 February 2020) as a Policy & Practitioner Fellow by the Centre for Analysis of the Radical Right (CARR) https://www.radicalrightanalysis.com/. The CARR organisation is a multi-disciplinary group of globally networked specialists wishing to share their expertise on the radical-right with a much wider and diverse audience, and to have a reputable, centralised platform in which to disseminate this research. CARR seeks to ensure that scholarly perspectives and insights are always available to policy-makers and journalists, as well as other specialists and the general public. While UK-based, under the direction of Emeritus Professor Matthew Feldman, CARR focusses upon radical-right parties and movements in Europe, the US and beyond, past and present.

Stretching back to 2011, Dr Waring’s contribution to EUC and CERIDES has included research and publications on a range of risk-related topics, especially on the radical-right, authoritarianism, and extremism. He was editor of and a contributor to the two-volume anthology The New Authoritarianism: A Risk Analysis of the Alt-Right Phenomenon (2018, 2019 Ibidem Verlag). He has also published a number of articles in learned  journals (e.g. Safety Science), as well as several contributions to CARR Insight blog.
