CRITICAL ENTITIES RESILIENCE ADVANCED COURSE

Under the auspices of the European Security and Defence College (ESDC), the European University Cyprus and its CERIDES Centre-of-Excellence in Risk and Decision Sciences, the Cyprus Security and Defence Academy, the Cyprus Central Emergency Civil Planning Agency (CECPA) and the Cyprus Civil Defence, will organise the:
Critical Entities Resilience Course (Advanced Level), from Monday 5 to Friday 9 October 2026, in Cyprus.
The course is supported by the Joint Research Centre from the European Commission, which provides technical support and carries out research activities that support EU efforts to protect critical infrastructures.
This course aims to enable participants to:
- systematise knowledge in specific critical entities resilience fields, interdependencies, and dynamics, bolstering the interconnectivity and cross-border nature of their operations
- enhance the interaction between participants and experts through an engaging tabletop exercise (TTX)
- train the strategic foresight in the CER and resilience planning activities, with a focus on cross-border and European dimension
- develop a multidisciplinary view of CER and the interdependencies that lead to an unpredictable and complex security environment, as well as a better understanding of the toolbox and conceptual framework which decision makers use to perform complex system governance in a multi-stakeholder setting.
Target audience: It is aimed at civil-military mid‐ to high‐level representatives of public authorities, Critical Entities or Critical Infrastructure owners/operators (private and state) with responsibilities for the development, formulation and implementation of security strategies, policies and mechanisms for Critical Entities Resilience and Critical Infrastructure Protection. EU Member States, governmental and private companies involved in CER (Critical Entities Resilience) or CI (Critical Infrastructure Protection) operations, as well as members of EU institutions, bodies and agencies are invited to participate.
Pre-requisites: To follow the CER/CI basic course, or to prove knowledge in this domain, or to work into a related CER/CI position.
