It is with great pleasure that, on 30 October 2025, at the premises of the European University Cyprus, we held the last Cyprus-LandLab ResAlliance-“ShowRoom” and “Info-Session“!

With the lead of CERIDES’ Resilience-Ambassadors Mrs. Klelia Vasiliou and Mr. Pierantonios Papazoglou, we conducted these activities within the context of ResAlliance‘s Cyprus-LandLab last Showroom and Info-Session (project’s Task 4.2 and 4.3).
We warmly thank the National Rural Network of Cyprus, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Environment, the Cyprus Civil Defense, the Cyprus Institute, and the Panagrotikos Association for their participation — and even more so, for the productive discussion surrounding the tools developed within this valuable project, which is now reaching its conclusion.
Through our discussions, it became clear that although the project is ending, its outcomes — the best practices it has documented, and the Massive-Open-Online-Course MOOC it offers (completely free of charge for anyone wishing to be trained in land resilience actions) — will remain available as a guide for a better and more resilient future.
Today’s presentation of 12 selected best practices sparked particularly fruitful and beneficial exchanges among all participants, highlighting the need for the adoption of several (if not all) of them by both the local community and the government. At the end, participants were invited to vote for the most valuable best practice among four categories:
- Governance and Economy
🏆 Mapping Compulsory Brush Clearing Zones and Strips - Water & Soil Management
🏆 The Ancient Art of Dry-Stone Walling - Alternative Ecosystem Management
🏆 Ramats de Foc (Spain) – Controlled grazing combined with certification of animal products - Forestry
🏆 Linking Abandoned Lands with Management and Exploitation Plans – Incentivizing landowners to utilize or lease their land through cooperation agreements
Of course, all 140+ best practices are freely available, along with our educational tool, through a simple registration at the of ResAlliance LandNet:
