CERIDES Announces Winners of 2nd #HackHEUREKA Hackathon (DG-ECHO Project HEUREKA)

CERIDES and the HEUREKA consortium is very happy to announce the results of the 2nd #HackHEUREKA hackathon.

 

The judging panel of #HackHEUREKA, consisting of representatives from all HEUREKA consortium partners, has unanimously decided that the following prizes will be awarded:

 

1st Prize

Submission Title: Fire Patrol Application

Candidates: Noura Maalawi, Anna Naimeh, Ahmad Sabbahi

The idea presented by the Lebanese team was considered is a full working application, which is consistent to the domain of Civil Protection. In addition, it has the potential to have considerable impact on some DRM challenges faced at the regional level (and beyond).

2nd Prize

Submission Title: World Emergency Calls

Candidate: Ron Caspi

The #HackHEUREKA judging committee was really impressed with the technical capabilities and expertise of the 13-year old student. His idea is simple, but original and impactful. It also has a significant potential to be further improved by providing additional useful information, like evacuation routes.
