Pyrolife‘ project, is an Innovative Training Network consisting of 10 beneficiaries and 15 PhD students. It aims to train a new generation of interdisciplinary experts in holistic fire management.

CERIDES will employ 2 PhD researchers:

PhD 1: fire resilient governance.
The objectives of the first PhD project are to:

2. Assess how NW Europe can learn from Southern practices and vice versa,

3. Identify best governance practices on a multi-hazard level that can be used in fire prevention and suppression contexts.

PhD 2: European interagency exchange.
The objectives of the second PhD project are to identify:

1) barriers for European collaboration and exchange in emergency management,

2) national (e.g. fire statistics collection mechanisms) and EU policies (e.g. rescEU) and best practices in prevention.
