FA-ST Project (Erasmus+): Implementation Updates

January 26, 2021

CERIDES is proud to coordinate the implementation of project FA-ST (Fast prototyping and entrepreneurial skills to promote female founded start-ups in STEM). The project is funded through the Erasmus+ Programme mechanism KA205 – Strategic Partnerships for Youth.

The FA-ST project provides opportunities of empowerment and development to young women affected by socioeconomic or other barriers (migrants background, weak family support, early school leavers), and inspires them to start a business in the STEM sector (science, technology, engineering, mathematics).

On the 20th of January 2021, the FA-ST Consortium conducted its 2nd Virtual Project Meeting. The meeting was conducted using the Zoom virtual environment, in direct substitution of the previously scheduled physical Transnational Project Meeting (TPA) which was supposed to take place on month 12 of the project (as per the official project description). The latter meeting was deemed impossible to implement due to both the travel restrictions and the ban on social and business gatherings which are currently in place in all project participant countries due to the Covid-19 situation.

Despite the significant disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic in the operation of the participating organizations of the FA-ST project, the partners have managed to implement their planned production activities and achieve their respective intermediate objectives. It is expected that the implementation of piloting activities which were previously infeasible due to state restrictions / regulations, will also commence in the near future.

The FA-ST Consortium comprises of the following organizations:

Dr. Christos Dimopoulos, co-Director of CERIDES, acts as the project manager of FA-ST project. Professor Maria Meletiou (Head of Education and Training Services, CERIDES), Dr. Simona Mihai (Director of the PEAK Laboratory), and Dr. Angelos Sofianides (Research Associate of the  CERIDES laboratory), are comprising the EUC team responsible forthe implementation of the FA-ST project.
