Additionally, Dr. Mathbout participated in the “Challenges in Meteorology 10 Conference” in Zagreb, presenting the work: “Combining Climate Indices and Land Use Practices for Holistic Drought Monitoring in Syria: Impacts and Insights” in collaboration with George Boustras, Pierantonios Papazoglou, Javier Martin Vide, and Fatima Raai.

We congratulate Dr. Mathbout on her outstanding contributions to climate science and international research collaboration. We take the opportunity to acknowledge and thank the Cyprus Research & Innovation Foundation for making the above works possible, via the funding of the Project with Protocol Number: OPPTY MSCA /1122/0050, entitled: «Migration and the climate crisis in the Middle East and Northern Africa» – acronym: «MIGRATE MENA», within the framework of RESTART Programme’s «Horizon Europe 2nd Opportunity» andPillar II «Sustainable RTDI system».
