Objectives of SAT – LAW include: Contribute to a bi-annual case-based report (art.37) to the EC on the application of Directive 2104/41/EU, on the basis of both qualitative and quantitative information, including the coherence, harmonization and interrelation with other judicial instruments to harmonize judicial and police cooperation.
The anticipated results are increased capacity of national authorities to address issues related to judicial cooperation in criminal matters; Align the EU acquis and relevant case-law of the CJEU/ECtHR; prosecutors and judges have further specialised knowledge and experience in respective fields; Closer cooperation between LEAs, Prison Police and Judiciary; increased awareness of policymakers and technocrats related to judicial cooperation in criminal matters.
