Professor George Boustras, who was amongst the conference’s keynote speakers, delivered his main speech during the “Health and Safety Cultures” session on the 15th of November, entitled “Cultures of safety, past and future of safety and health science”.

Research Associate Jason Senekkis presented the work of the RESPOND-A H2020 project, coordinated and implemented by the CERIDES team of Professor George Boustras, Dr. Cleo Varianou-Mikellidou and Mr. Jason Senekkis, during the session “New technologies – Contemporary challenges for Occupational Safety and Health”. The presentation was entitled “New technologies for the improvement of the safety of first responders” and provided the audience with insights and details of the technologies and products developed in RESPOND-A.

Mr. Jason Senekkis also participated in the session “Occupational Safety and Health management in economic sectors” with a presentation of the study currently conducted at CERIDES, in collaboration with the Cyprus Police, about the Occupational Safety and Health of professional drivers and its effects on road safety in Cyprus. The current status of road safety and the Occupational Safety and Health challenges for professional drivers in Cyprus was discussed during the presentation.
