CERIDES is happy to announce that the 1st ever physical meeting of project OenoWatch took place at the Vouni Oenology Center on the 14th of September 2022. No physical meetings were possible during the first 23 months of the project’s implementation due to the Covid-19 restrictions. The OenoWatch project is an Integrated Project which is funded under the Restart 2016-2020 Program of the Research & Innovation Foundation (ΙδΕΚ).

The meeting constitutes a significant moment in the implementation of the OenoWatch project because It took place at the Oenological Center of Vouni village, an important Cyprus infrastructure associated with viticulture in Cyprus, which is also planned to provide the physical basis of the OenoWatch project’s Competence Center.

The objectives of the meeting were the following:

  • Generate a list of remaining tasks for the finalisation of the OenoWatch Decision Support System
  • Plan piloting activities until the end of the project duration
  • Discuss, agree, and plan the short-term and mid-term visibility and exploitation activities of the project, as these will be facilitated by the OenoWatch Competence Center.
  • Discuss, agree, and plan the short-term and mid-term dissemination activities of the project

All participants agreed that the OenoWatch project and the establishment of the corresponding Competence Center within the premises of the Vouni Oenology Center provides a major opportunity for the advancement of precision viticulture in Cyprus and for the scientific / business growth of the project partners.

CERIDES, on behalf of E.U.C. Research Center, acts as the Coordinator for the implementation of the project. Like and follow the project’s dissemination outlets in order to receive frequent updates regarding the project’s progress and activities
