CERIDES is happy to announce another successful research project bid in the area of Disaster Management. In particular, the Erasmus+ project entitled EM-CITY (KA220-YOU – Cooperation partnerships in youth) has been selected for funding. CERIDES participates as a partner in this successful bid. The total grant for this project is in the region of 160K Euros.

EM-CITY recognizes that emergencies occur in a social context and have social consequences. From this point of view, it is essential to provide equal access to services and information for all people. It is therefore imperative that the emergency management studies should be proactive in developing strategies and policies for working with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities and long-term residents etc. In other words, with the EM-CITY project, young people, regardless of their nationality, language and religion, will possess the opportunity to have education on their roles during emergency situations about how to design interactive processes and build “interactive bridges” between different stakeholders and local communities in the process of emergency management.

The project consortium is led by the European Project Consulting S.R.L. in Italy. Partners from Greece (CCI – Community Crisis Intervention), and Turkey (Innogo Proje Eğitim Danışmanlık Mimarlık Sanayi), also participate in the implementation of the project.
